Sphere is looking to immediately hire a full-time Senior Project Manager into its Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO).

Position Summary

Under the direction of Director, EPMO the senior project manager will be responsible for establishing and leading enterprise-wide, cross-functional strategic initiatives. Senior project manager will lead a variety of different types of projects, including launching new products and services, large-scale application development, systems integration, operational efficiency improvements, process reengineering, and infrastructure upgrades and deployments.


  • Responsible for project oversight, including planning, directing, and managing cross-functional team members
  • Manage project deliverables and milestones within approved timeline and budget
  • Must be able to enforce standard project management methodologies and tools to drive the execution and delivery of initiatives
  • Comply with change management processes to drive effective project execution & manage proper release/deployment of the project (e.g., post-implementation testing, auditing, reporting)
  • Ensure seamless transition from project implementation to the business
  • Identify/prioritize potential risks/issues in a timely manner throughout the project life cycle
  • Develop /maintain applicable risk/issue logs and develop and implement contingency and recovery plans when deliverables/milestones are missed (e.g., identify critical path, document plan for getting back on schedule)
  • Analyze project outcomes and make appropriate recommendations to improve project outcomes and processes going forward (e.g., stakeholder satisfaction, lessons learned)
  • Serves as escalation point to resolve project/program issues, remove roadblocks and communicate status to executive leadership team.
  • Adhere to IT governance processes
  • Provide weekly project status and financial updates for approved projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively with leadership and senior management
  • Develop and deliver key documents
  • Serves as a role model in promoting good working relationships across a program/project
  • Personal effectiveness skills, such as time management and setting and achieving goals
  • Ability to initiate, engage and maintain stakeholder relationships
  • Employ strategic visioning and planning to align program goals and benefits with the long term goals of the organization
  • Ability to effectively present at dept/forum meetings
  • Mentors, coaches and develops other PM’s and BSA‘s in their roles
  • Excellent conflict resolution skills, able to clarify needs, anticipate problems and be a resourceful and intuitive problem solver
  • Directly manages all aspects of the project lifecycle and works with matrix IT partners to oversee all SDLC phases of a project
  • Validates financial forecasts and provides ongoing reconciliation of resources and other related project expenditures
  • Represents the project in various project governance and inter-department forums
  • Defines and tracks project milestones while developing, maintaining, and reporting on an overall integrated delivery plan


  • 7+ years of experience leading matrixed project teams implementing IT, process improvements and business operations projects
  • Experience running projects with team members located in different office locations
  • Experience running projects with 3rd party vendors
  • MS Office Suite proficiency
  • Has proven delivery experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in the use of project management and SDLC methodologies and tools
  • Proven ability to quickly earn the trust of sponsors and key stakeholders; mobilize and motivate teams; set direction and approach; resolve conflict; deliver tough messages with grace; execute with limited information and ambiguity
  • Ability to navigate a highly matrixed organization effectively
  • Solid influencing skills

  • Ability to communicate at all levels with clarity and precision, both written and verbally

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or computer science preferred
