Position Summary

Reporting to the Director, Enterprise Project Management Office, the Business Systems Analyst will create, refine and document business requirements, processes, and workflows. You will work with solution architects to create functional specifications that meet those requirements, serve as a subject matter expert, and complete business level testing of the developed functionality. This role works closely with business subject matter experts, other business analysts, project managers, solution architects and QA through each stage of the software development lifecycle.  You will also work on business side only projects that entail gaining operational efficiencies and other process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Analyzes business needs and documents requirements, both functional and non-functional, user stories and business workflows
  • Translate user, stakeholder, client requests into actionable business requirements for IT
  • Documents current state and future state business processes
  • Conducts business level testing of requirements
  • Escalates defects to the business and IT
  • Assistance and coordination of UAT
  • Liaison between business users and IT to help clarify requirements, design, testing and acceptance specifications
  • Documents user steps and desk instructions for system and process changes
  • SME for several business units, operational processes and data interfaces (flow of information)
  • May at times work directly with external clients and contractors

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 4-7 years previous experience in similar role
  • Proficient at different requirements elicitation methods
  • Strong understanding of SDLC
  • Ability to work with business units to determine business needs and transform them into system and process requirements
  • Ability to analyze and document process and data flows
  • Ability to produce visual aids/representations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Clear, concise verbal and written communication with all organizational levels
  • Able to prioritize, and manage time efficiently
  • Self-motivated and self-directed
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel and Visio)
  • Payments industry knowledge preferred
